Pipeline protest

PIPELINE PROTEST IN MADISON SQUARE PARK:
On Thursday, June 30th
a day-long educational event for all ages is being held at Madison Square
Park (24th & Madison Ave.) across the street from Credit Suisse First Boston's (CSFB) NY headquarters.
Shell is currently seeking to build a massive oil extraction facility in the pristine waters off Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East. These waters are the primary fishing grounds for communities on the island, and are also home to the world's last population of critically endangered Western Gray Whales. Credit Suisse First Boston is serving as financial advisor to this Shell Oil project even though it violates the terms of the Equator Principles, to which it is a signatory.
Take action today to tell CSFB to withdraw funding for this egregious project and to adopt comprehensive environmental standards immediately to prevent this from happening again. For more information, visit Pacific Environment
An interactive, educational display will feature over 3000 letters from children around the world, which will be hand-delivered to Credit Suisse First Boston.
Come learn about oil, human rights, and the environment!
We'll be there all day, from 9:00 - 5:00, but festivities will be at their height
between Noon and 2:00 pm.
