Sen. Clinton and the guns of truth

It would have been better for all of us if instead of teaching her how to shoot a gun Senator Clinton's father had taught her how to tell the truth.

I can't believe that any small town voter is dumb enough to believe that because she has a shot and a beer (photo op) and reminisces about learning to shoot guns, that Clinton understands their pain. The main difference between her and Barack Obama is that he tells the truth, she tells everyone what she thinks they want to hear. Last time I looked that was called pandering and patronizing. Eight years of lies at the highest levels of government is enough. Democracy depends on honesty and an administration that has enough respect for the people to tell the truth no matter how disagreeable it may be. Mike Lupica said in today's (Tues.) New York Daily News:
You are allowed to think that he [Obama] can come across as half-a-phony sometimes. Still the idea that he is the elitist in this race is as much a fiction as Hillary's fiction about her trip to Bosnia.

Sometimes Obama must think that the people he is up against lie just to stay in practice.
