Texas 24, Ohio State 21 in the Fiesta Bowl
Quarterback Colt McCoy hit Quan Cosby on a 26-yard pass for a touchdown with 16 seconds to go, giving #3 Texas a Fiesta Bowl win over #10 Ohio State. The Texas drive came after Ohio State scored 15 straight points to take the lead.
This is important for two reasons.
The most important is that Ann graduated from The University of Texas.
The second is that the closeness of the final score and that Texas pulled it out with 16 seconds to go, questions #3 Texas's claim to a piece of the national championship (which will be decided between #1 Florida and #2 Oklahoma Thursday evening). For the record, that did not prevent the Texas fans from holding up the symbolic #1 finger after the game or the coach's claim: "I don't think there's anybody in the country who can beat us at this point."
Colt McCoy in what was not his best game of the season, still demonstrated why he was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy.
