Lincoln Chafee's little problem

"Sen. Lincoln Chafee has a funny habit of taking one position in his home state of Rhode Island and adopting another stance entirely as soon as he gets back to Washington. Never was this more apparent than on April 6, 2005. On that day, Chafee told the Boston Globe that he was leaning against voting for John Bolton's confirmation because his constituents were "overwhelmingly" opposed to the nomination.

The only problem is that Chafee told a Capitol Hill newspaper that he was "inclined to vote for" Bolton on the very same day. He ultimately voted for Bolton in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

It's just another example of Chafee pretending to be a moderate when he's in Rhode Island but following the conservative Republican party line once he gets back to Washington. You can read more about Chafee's little problem here:
