Military Recruiters Feel Pressure

New York, July 14 --The New York City Counter-Recruitment Campaign, a diverse coalition of anti-war activists, demonstrated in front of military recruiting offices on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn this afternoon. The group's focus is to inform parents of high school-age students that they can 'opt-out' of schools' disclosure of their children's' information to the military, a device enabled by the No Child Left Behind Act, and one that the military has been actively using to pressure and lure young students into service with promises of a free education.
