July 19: Code Pink picnic in Central Park

Join Code Pink New York on July 19th in Central Park at the Philharmonic concert to support New Yorkers' right to assemble.

When: Tuesday July 19, 7 PM
Where: Central Park, Great Lawn (look for the pink helium balloons on the west side of the lawn)

Before the concert we will hand out flyers with information on Bloomberg's and the NYC Parks Department's proposal to limit the amount, size and kind of large public gatherings that take place at Central Park's Great Lawn. The City says no more Dave Matthews and Dali Lama and no more public rallies. We say it's the People's Park. It's our public space; our commons and we have a right to utilize these spaces for various kinds of culture and for freedom of speech.

Once the music begins, we will settle on the Great Lawn to listen to Dvorak, (with conductor Lorin Maazel and cellist Lynn Harrell). Bring a blanket, bring your friends and family. Bring some tasty treats to share! All are welcome to share our space, but if you are participating in the Pink-nic, please RSVP to nycodepinkster@gmail.com with what you'll bring.

The Great Lawn is between 81 & 85 streets, in the center of the park. Enter the park on the west side at 81 or 86 Street or the east side at 86 Street
